Course Description

The Level 1 Physical Education program is a 15 credit Level 1 Achievement Standard course. The program is completely internally assessed with no external standards. 

Students will experience and participate in a wide range of physical activities in a variety of contexts. The program looks at concepts such as responsible attitude to their own well-being; respect, care, concern for other people and the environment; and a sense of social justice. Students will develop, learn and understand the inter-relationships that exist between the individual, others, and society. Students will also deepen their knowledge and ability of anatomy and physiology to develop their and others’ sporting performance.

Students will need to demonstrate a greater level of critical thinking and analytical writing skills in comparison to the 11SEP course.


This course leads to a University Entrance approved subject.
