Course Description

Teacher in Charge: S. Millichamp

Recommended Prior Learning

Level 1 Agricultural Science or by consultation with Head of Agriculture.


Content/Skills:

  • Crop growth and development;
  • Livestock reproduction techniques;
  • Livestock growth and development;
  • Primary production land use; and
  • Environmental impact of a local primary product.

Field trip:  One trip to Lincoln University and one trip to the Get Ahead Agricultural Careers Day.

There may also be the opportunity for some students to do a two-day tractor and three-day chainsaw course which is worth an extra Unit Standard.

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

Voluntary course contribution: Approximately $20 towards field trip transport, to be advised at the time.
