Course Description

Content/Skills:

  • Fibres to Fabrics - a look at history of wool fibres in New Zealand and how they are transformed into fabric.  Learn about the growing awareness of sustainability and the importance of upcycling.
  • Weathering the Elements - use the design process to develop a prototype.  Carry out testing and research to plan and produce a prototype.  Evaluate the outcome.
  • Sew Basic - demonstrate understanding of the techniques and procedures used to construct garments and implement these basic procedures to construct a garment or product.
