NCEA Level 2 Materials Technology: Product Design

This is a year long course which caters for students who want to design their own projects.  Students will work with growing independence and responsibility to design a furniture themed project. The course is achievement standard based and therefore students will be required to complete design work which leads to a final outcome. Students will learn to develop a range of skills based around power and hand tools resulting in a number of smaller projects which then progress to a larger project. Students will be expected to have completed 11 MTH, 11MTM or 11 MTB so they have the necessary background in design.  

This course is more challenging than 12 MTB and 12MTM due to the level of design work covered.
