Course Description

Course Aims:

The course serves as an introduction to the Music programme examined for NCEA.


Course Outline:

  • Heavy emphasis on practical work;
  • The content not only includes performance but also involves creative and historical studies in Music; and
  • Students will be encouraged to write for their own instruments in any style of music (popular, rock, jazz or classical), and to experiment with sound in general.


Successful completion of this course is a prerequisite for Level 1.
