NCEA Level 1 Foundation Studies
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: L. Carrick.
On completion of all standards, students may be eligible for New Zealand Certificate in Foundation Skills Level 1. The 60 credits gained will also go towards NCEA Level 1.
Content/Skills:
- Identify self management strategies;
- Interact appropriately with all people;
- Apply basic numeracy and literacy skills; and
- Identify leadership skills.
Note: US 33246, US 33249 and US 33251 will be taught in English Foundation. US 33247 will be taught in Maths Foundation.
This subject does not lead to a University Entrance approved subject.
BY SELECTING THIS COURSE YOU AUTOMATICALLY SELECT:
- NCEA Level 1 Mathematics Foundation; and
- NCEA Level 1 English Foundation
Recommended Prior Learning
Entrance to this course is done in consultation with the Senior School Pastoral Team. Students will be recommended by teachers and agencies. The Head of Department will have the final say over entry to the course.
Must be enrolled in 11ENF and 11MAF.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
A contribution or cost towards relevant trips and activities may be required depending on topics studied.
