NCEA Level 3 Art - Creative Design

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: K. Watkins.

In the NCEA Level 3 Design course, students will produce a systematic body of work that synthesizes conventions and regenerates a depth of ideas. This involves critically selecting ideas and methods from established designers and sources, integrating conventions, and revisiting and refining ideas from previous work. This process provides options for extending ideas into new work and achieving an intended outcome.

  • Systematic Body of Work: Create related works that form a series or sequence, showing the generation and development of ideas within the art-making process.
  • Development Process: Focus on the editing, selection, and ordering of work to enhance an overall artistic design package.
  • Understanding Conventions: Apply the characteristics and constraints relevant to the field of creative design.
  • Stakeholder Consideration: Develop a project brief focused on meeting the needs and expectations of stakeholders.

Join us to refine your artistic skills, produce a compelling design brief and portfolio, and prepare for future creative endeavours.
