Course Description

This course is a Level 1 course, of Unit Standards, for students interested in food. It offers practical application of food preparation, presentation and hospitality. It is of particular interest to students thinking of a career in the food and hospitality industry, but will be useful to anyone who likes and enjoys making and eating food.
This course will offer learning experiences in the following:
- Handling food safely
- Handling equipment safely
- How to store, prepare and cook a range of foods covered
- Attractive presentation of food for service
- Identify career pathways in the hospitality industry
Access to a keyboard device is an advantage for this course.
