DVC101

NCEA Level 1 Design & Visual Communication

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: S. Stephen.

This course builds on the skills and techniques developed in Year 9 and 10, it is therefore strongly recommended that students have completed Y10 DVC. This is mainly due to the prior learning needed for the CAD software programs and the traditional presentation techniques used.

Over the year we will cover a number of design briefs which will provide evidence for the External and Internal Achievement Standards offered. Content covered will include: research of design, analysis of ideas, sketching and computer aided design.

Recommended Prior Learning

Students wishing to take this course who have not completed 10 DVC must have approval from the teacher in charge, Head of Department or Head of Faculty for technology.
