NCEA Level 2 Product Design: Hard Materials - Metal
Course Description

This course follows on from Year 11 and leads to Year 13, and further study at Polytechnic and University. This is an Achievement Standard course. Students solve an design problems by following a design process and then generate a design solution, justifying it's selection to the stake-holders. Advanced practical skills are developed and the assessed in a project, working predominantly with Metal.
The Standards covered in this course are the same, or similar to, those covered in the Wood course. You cannot do both.
Assessments are tailored to individuals learning needs.
Students will complete a maximum of 21 credits and the course will be designed to suit the needs and interests of the individual students.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
$70 at the start of the year and extra materials consumed will be calculated at the end of the course for the take home component.

Total Credits Available: 31 credits.
