NCEA Level 2 Art - Photography

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: K. Watkins.

Painting with the lens: Taking a good photo is a complex and highly sought after skill, and we aim to equip students with a range of interesting ideas and skills to really make an impact on their society. Photography marries the taking with the making, and together with mastery over creative software such as Photoshop and Illustrator, you will be creating amazing artwork. Let your imagination lead you into the unknown.

This course leads to a University Entrance approved subject.

Recommended Prior Learning

An achieved grade or higher in Level 1 Art folio or Head of Department approval.

This course needs to be taken if you intend continuing with this subject at Level 3 (Year 13).

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

A suitable device (laptop) is strongly recommended.

Students also need their own good quality digital camera, SD card and external hard drive.
