NCEA Level 3 Science
Teacher in Charge: M. Jones
The course will offer a wide range of Science-based Achievement Standards linked to the Earth Systems and Space. Other subject Standards from Chemistry and Education for Sustainability may also be included in the course. The content and skills covered may include:
- Investigation skills
- Research skills
- Geology dating
- The ocean system
- The atmospheric system
A course of 16-22 credits will be selected from the standards below.
This course is a University Entrance approved subject.
Recommended Prior Learning
An interest in studying Sciences with 12 credits or more from a Level 2 Science subject or in consultation with the Head of Science.
Total Credits Available: 24 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 8 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 16 credits.

Only students engaged in learning and achievement derived from Te Marautanga o Aotearoa are eligible to be awarded these subjects as part of the requirement for 14 credits in each of three subjects.
