Course Description

Content/Skills:

  • Interact in spoken German to share and respond to information, ideas and opinions (AS 1.1)
  • Communicate in German for a chosen purpose (AS 1.2)
  • Demonstrate understanding of written German related to everyday contexts (AS 1.3)
  • Demonstrate understanding of spoken German related to everyday contexts (AS 1.4)


Field Trips/Tours

  • Tour to Germany every 2 years
  • Talkfest German Camp in Mosgiel
  • University of Canterbury German Day


This course leads to a University Entrance approved subject.

Recommended Prior Learning

Satisfactory completion of Year 10 German or consultation with Teacher In Charge of German / Head of Faculty.

This course needs to be taken if you intend continuing with this subject at Level 2 (Year 12).
