NCEA Level 3 Mathematics General
Teacher in Charge: M. Evans
This is an academic mathematics course that covers a range of topics including algebra, statistics and probability.
- Time series;
- Bivariate data;
- Statistical inference;
- Linear programming; and
- Simultaneous equations.
This course is a University Entrance approved subject.
Field trips: Level 3 Mathematics with Statistics, Level 3 Mathematics General and Level 3 Biology student can attend an optional 3 day trip to the NZ Marine Studies Centre in Dunedin. This will provide an excellent opportunity for students to run a series of experiments and evaluate the statistical significance of their results.
Recommended Prior Learning
At least 14 credits from Level 2 Mathematics Achievement Standards.

For NCEA Levels 1, 2 & 3 courses will be made up of a selection of the stated standards. This will happen at the beginning of the year with the assigned teacher.
