NCEA Level 2 Physical Education
Teacher in Charge: V. Matheson
The Level 2 Physical Education programme consists of 14 credits from Level 2 Achievement Standards and 5 credits from Unit Standards. The programme is completely internally assessed with not external Standards.
Students will be challenged to participate in a variety of physical contexts and will be assessed on their ability to demonstrate inter-personal skills, leadership skills and teamwork skills. Students will also be asked to run a coaching session and will learn proper static stretching techniques. Students will be expected to complete a number of physical aspects of the programme to the best of their ability, as they are key to assessment.
This course does not lead to a University Entrance approved subject. Students requiring University Entrance in Year 13 will need to be in the PED pathway.
Students cannot be enrolled in both SEP and PED courses.

Satisfactory performance in Level 1 SEP, an interest in sport and PE activities.

For NCEA Levels 1, 2 & 3 courses will be made up of a selection of the stated standards. This will happen at the beginning of the year with the assigned teacher.
