NCEA Level 2 Design & Visual Communication

This course follows on from Year 11 and prepares students and leads onto the Level 3, Year 13 course. Year 12 DVC concentrates on using the skill gained in Year 11 and applying them to projects based around the theme "Design Movement" and "Spatial Design". Students explore the use of nature and natural forms to inspire design.
Students will learn about Design Movement and eras through a product brief and the key aspects of Architectural (Spatial) and Design. Students develop research, sketching and presentation skills as well as the use of CAD programs.
This course leads to a University Entrance approved subject.
Recommended Prior Learning
9 credits in Level 1 Graphics or by consultation with HOD.

Externally Assessed Credits: 7 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 15 credits.
