Year 10 Materials Technology: Product Design - Wood
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: S. Stephen
This course follows on and builds upon the skills and knowledge in Year 9. Students will follow a design process to solve problems and present ideas. Students will learn new skills and techniques and be able to apply these when making their own designs working predominantly with Wood.
Students will work with traditional hand tools, woodworking machines and the Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Families/whānau can be charged for the cost of materials when they have agreed that item can be taken home. This cost will be advised at the start of the course.
Disclaimer
For NCEA Levels 1, 2 & 3 courses will be made up of a selection of the stated standards. This will happen at the beginning of the year with the assigned teacher.
